The Jewel Society was formed in 2017 to encourage support for the activities of PJ Library. “Jewel” is an acronym for “Jewish Women
Emerging Leaders,” and the term was chosen by the founders because it means “one who is highly esteemed.”

As we enter our second year, no one could be more valued than our members, who are taking personal responsibility for the continuity of Jewish identity in our community.

With gifts to support PJ Library, Jewel Society members take the lead in ensuring a vibrant Jewish community in Jacksonville for generations to come. A gift to PJ Library allows us to reach the families of more than 650 children ages 6 months to 8 years, enriching their lives with Jewish books and CDs as well as local family programming and outreach.

Donors who contribute $118 or more annually become a member of the Jewel Society and receive a special bracelet. Members then receive a commemorative charm for each year of support.

The Jewel Society has also been generously underwritten by several community donors.
